Thank You for visiting my site, I am Brett Bontrager and my family is pictured above. I am located in North Central Indiana. Lighthouse Boer Goats was started in 1998 by Matthew and Lori Walsh in Jones, Michigan. The herd was then bought by Matthew and Mary Yoder in Athens, Michigan. I was able to buy the Lighthouse herd in the fall of 2008. Thank you Matthew and Mary for this opportunity. Also thank you to Matthew and Lori as they have helped me out tremendously with my farm.They have done a wonderful job in making their customers happy and raising great and friendly breeding stock. I hope to provide you my customers with the same services as the Yoders and Walshs.I have been involved in the 4-H Goat Club in Elkhart since 2004. The Walshes got me interested in this and from those experiences I have discovered an attraction to goats. For 4-H I have been involved mostly with Boer wethers, but have shown some dairy animals. I decided to buy the Lighthouse Herd to supply me with goats for fair, and as a hobby. The past few months have been interesting, keeping the goats healthy during kidding in the cold.My brothers and sister are also involved in the 4-H Goat program and love (well sometimes) to help with chores.
